Updates! Schedule Deadlines Talks Accommodations Subsidies Registration Outing Advert (pdf)

The University of Calgary Student Chapter of the Optical Society of America is hosting the 2009 Alberta Quantum and Nano-Optics (QuNO 09) Annual Meeting at the University of Calgary Campus, from Wednesday, June 24th to Saturday, June 27th, 2009. The event is free and open to the public, and will feature a two-day schedule of student talks and guest speakers, with a social outing on the third day.

The event will be in a workshop format, with the focus of the talks on imparting practical skills and discussing capabilities, not necessarily highlighting the most recent research results. The aim will be on teaching both theoretical and experimental technical tools by graduate students to graduate students, skills that could be directly applied to day-to-day research. We will also have tours of our state-of-the-art Institute for Quantum Information Science (IQIS) research laboratories that will aim to highlight our institutional capabilities and opportunities for collaboration.

UPDATES!

May 21 The QuNO 09 organizers are proud to announce Dr. Rainer Irashko
